Capri Island & Ischia Island

Sorrento is located in between the two most famous islands of the Gulf of Naples: Capri and Ischia. Taking the hydrofoil you can reach both from the port of Sorrento, but dedicate at least one full day to each and, if you can, avoid the peak days and times.

Capri with its sea stacks welcomes you to the village of Marina Grande. From here, head for a tour of the island by sea to visit the caves of Capri (the Blue Cave, the White Cave, the Green Cave), see the sea stacks up close and take a dip in the beautiful waters of the island.

Then, in the afternoon, take the funicular and go up to the square of Capri for a drink; it’s not uncommon to see some VIPs walking there or getting something to drink at a table next to yours.

To reach Anacapri, the upper part of the island where you can enjoy a breathtaking view, you can take a bus directly from Capri which will take you there in less than half an hour.

Reaching Capri and Ischia from Sorrento

The islands of Capri and Ischia can be reached from Sorrento by private boat or by hydrofoil directly from the port of Sorrento. The trips to the island of Ischia are only active during the summer months. To reach Ischia in other periods you must first head to the port of Naples, also by hydrofoil, and then from there embark for Ischia.
